The Weeki Wachee Swamp Festival, Inc. mission is to serve the community of Hernando County, FL by organizing and hosting the annual fundraising event known as The Weeki Wachee Swamp Fest for the benefit of granting operational funds to other Hernando County community based organizations. The Weeki Wachee Swamp Festival, Inc. is run by a passionate and dedicated all volunteer committee whose combined skills make it a true community event.

The Weeki Wachee Swamp Festival has grown from a small local community fundraising festival to a statewide annual event, attracting thousands of fun seekers daily and featuring more than a hundred arts, crafts and food vendors. Along with a great variety of food to enjoy, the entertainment program includes dancers, folk, country and instrumental music throughout throughout the weekend. The Swamp Monster contest has always been a favorite with the crowd and with clever and widely creative costumes, kids and adults alike, vie for the cash prizes.

The Weeki Wachee Swamp Festival, Inc. is an Internal Revenue Service approved non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that means your contributions are tax deductible. Swamp Festival Rules

• Upon arrival, participants must check in to receive their registration packet. Spaces are pre-assigned and ARE FINAL. All booths must be set-up by 8 AM Friday March 6, 2020 and your prize donation (if applicable) will be picked up.

• Vehicles will be permitted in the park for unload and pick-up. All vehicles must be in the assigned vendor parking area by 8AM and may not enter the park until 5:30 PM Fri-Sat. or 4:30 PM Sun.

• All vendors are restricted to distributing information/products at their booths so as not to impede the flow of traffic

• Political participants must establish a direct affiliation to Hernando County, either in political candidacy or in representing issues of concern to the areas.

• Participants must be present during the entire festival. No one is permitted to breakdown their booth before 4 PM on Sunday unless prior arrangements are made). Failure to follow this rule will result in ineligibility for future Swamp Fest events.

• Coffee & treats will be available at no charge in the Sweets Booth in the Food Court until 9 AM each morning

• Participants must provide their own tents, tie downs weights, tables, chairs, etc. and have complete responsibility for their own exhibits. Please keep all areas clean and dispose of trash and litter in designated places.

• Electricity will NOT be at this event. Generators with a noise level exceeding 70 decibels will NOT be allowed.

• Pets are NOT permitted at this event. Please make other arrangements for their care.

• Vendors are NOT permitted to offer items that launch projectiles (toy guns. bow & arrow, slingshot, etc), raffle rickets, soda, water, asked goods, hot dogs or anything deemed to be exclusive to Weeki Wachee Swamp Fest.

• No helium balloons are to be given for advertisement due to environmental concerns. H.E.L.P. is one of the Festival Organizers.

• Any group or individual found to be in violation of these rules will be put on notice. Failure to comply with any request by Festival personnel will result in eviction form the park and ineligibility to attend the Festival in the future. Festival personnel reserve the right to refuse entrance or effect anyone deemed disruptive.

•Participants must prominently display the ID card showing name and space number on your tent and the parking pass must be prominently displayed in your vehicle (provided in Packet to be picked up at Vendor check-in).

2020 Food Vendor Requirements

• Must possess current Florida Food License as well as liability insurance and any locally required licenses. Submission of proof required with application.

• Must decorate individual food sales area to reflect “swamp” theme. Submit photos or description with application.

• Must serve food items which are representative of traditional Florida/southern cooking or compatible with the special nature of event. (List of suggested items included.) Each vendor must submit proposed menu for approval. In most cases, individual food items will be limited to one vendor but exceptions may be granted for high demand items and/or if deemed to be in the best interest of event.

• May not serve hot dogs, baked goods, coffee or carbonated beverages such as Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, etc., or bottled water which will be sold exclusively by SWAMP FEST volunteers. outside vendors may be permitted to sell beverages such as iced tea which are compatible with their food selections, if requested.

• Must agree to charge “reasonable” prices for all food items, subject to approval of SWAMP FEST committee, preference will be given to the best food values if duplicate requests for the same or similar food items are received.

• Must provide all of their own supplies and equipment. Due to limited resources, vendors are strongly encouraged to be self-contained. Electricity is available for an additional fee of $35 for 20 amp electrical hook-ups or $75 for 50 amp electrical hook-ups per space.

• Generators allowed with noise level not exceeding 70 decibels.

• Water is available on grounds but not at all sites. Traffic will be very limited or prohibited and access should not be expected. Must be sufficiently equipped to avoid vehicular access to sales location during event hours.

• Must agree to remain open at event from opening to closing on all three days during the event.

Food Vendor Fees: 1 item – $240; 2-3 items – $346; 4-5 items $453; 6-10 items

Space size may vary according to location but generally will not exceed 20′. Location will be determined by type of food served and event layout.

    No substitute vendors will be allowed. Approved menu including price may not be changed without approval. All food prices must always be clearly posted at booth.

    Swamp Festival Release:
    All participants agree for themselves and all affiliated person to comply with event rules and regulations and to forever discharge the Weeki Wachee Swamp Festival, its officers, volunteers, sponsoring organizations, Linda Pederson Park and other participants from all matters of actions, suits, damages, claims and demands whatsoever in law or equity, from any loss of damage to the undersigned property while in possession, supervision or auspices of the Weeki Wachee Swamp Festival, Linda Pederson Park, its agents, representatives or volunteers/employees.

    I declare that all of the statements in the application are truthful and correct statements and representative of my art/craft and the art/craft I will bring to the festival and any other product I bring. I understand that if in the sole opinion of the festival committee, my application or art/craft contains fraudulent or incorrect statements I may be ruled ineligible for the festival or removed from it at any time. Penalties after the determination of ineligibility or removal will include forfeiture of participation in future Swamp fest events. I agree to abide by the Festival Rules and understand the Weeki Wachee Swamp Fest Committee reserves the right to make the final interpretation of all rules.
