Now in its 20th year, the Weeki Wachee Swamp Fest returns March 8-10, 2013.
The Weeki Wachee Swamp Fest has grown from a small local community fundraising festival to a statewide annual event attracting over thousands of fun seekers and featuring more than one hundred and forty arts and craft vendors.
Along with a great variety of food to enjoy like fried grouper, bar-b-que chicken, crab cakes, Alligator, bloom in' onion, jambalaya, greens & black eyed peas, beans and rice, swamp cabbage, fried green tomatoes, slaw, hot dogs, Cuban Sandwiches, hamburgers, the entertainment program includes dancers, folk, country and instrumental music throughout the weekend.
The “Swamp Monster” contest has always been a favorite with the crowd, and with clever and wildly creative costumes, kids and adults alike vie for the cash prizes. Drawings for over 200 other prizes throughout the event, as well. (...read more about Swamp Monster contest)
